Talk about ubiquitous stars. Between his role on TV's General Hospital and his No. 1 hit, Jessie's Girl, Rick Springfield was everywhere you looked in the beginning of the 1980s. With Jessie's Girl, Springfield hadn't yet become a star in the U.S., and he sang it with an urgency, begging to be taken seriously; by the time of his Human Touch single, that's the last thing that was happening. Like most teen idols, Springfield became a caricature of himself. However, there is something redeeming about the unabashed bubblegum glory of Don't Talk to Strangers, and Affair of the Heart. Greatest Hits is a quick dozen, and also includes I've Done Everything for You.
